Introductory level Gaeilge/ Irish- In this ten week course, we will develop our confidence using basic sentences based on ten themes. These ten themes are internationally recognised for language acquisition; Myself, My Family, Shopping, Hobbies and Pastimes, Special Occasions, The Weather, Food and Drink, Around the house, School, My locality.
Sessions will be developed with the needs and interests of the class in mind.
We will also explore skills such as telling the time, giving basic directions and counting.
While we will discuss grammar as certain points occur, there will not be a strong focus on complete accuracy, this course is more about building confidence in using the language at an introductory level.
This is an interactive class, with lots of time to practice the language we are working on with the other students.
This course would suit you if you are completely new to Gaeilge, or if you have foundational level Gaeilge from school.
On the final week we will visit a local café/ restaurant to gain a chance to use our Gaeilge in an authentic context.
