Interior Design for Beginners

Join us as we travel through time exploring interior styles from the Arts & Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, through to 1970s design and current trends.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to develop creative skills and improve their own home environment.

• Learn how to find inspiration and decorate on a budget
• Understand colour theory and how to apply it
• Explore window & wall treatments, furniture and layout
• Create a final sample board project

Course Topics

• Colour Schemes: mood, temperature, colour theory and paint finishes
• Design Principles: balance, rhythm, proportion, harmony and emphasis
• Lighting: types of lighting and layout planning
• Space Planning: room layout and furniture positioning
• Products: fabrics, flooring and materials
• Window Treatments: curtains, blinds and measuring techniques
